Wireless Technology Lab - Emerging Unlicensed Technologies

Tropper Technologies' Wireless Workshop is designed to explore various aspects of emerging wireless technologies...

There has recently been an explosion of unlicensed wireless standards in the United States within the
ISM (FCC Part 18) and U-NII (which is part of the FCC Primary Fixed Wireless band, along with the MMDS and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) ) categories.  In Europe, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has created the Broadband Radio Access Networks (BRAN) category.   Similarly, the Mobile Multimedia Access Communication (MMAC) organization has been created in Japan.  This evolving list will help to keep track of and explain some of the more popular flavors.
